MAC - Florabundance lipglass

Just a quick post about a lipglass I recently got. I've got a terrible cold and I'm studying for my last resit tomorrow so yeah, today kind of sucks.
Anyway, this is my first lipglass from mac and I love it. I've tried out quite some glosses in the past, but the pigmentation was bad or it would only stay on for about 30 min. I got this from a blogsale a while back, and I didn't know what to expect. At first I thought 'Oops, that's a bit too orange for me', but on the lips, it gives a really nice nude look. It's really sticky, more than other glosses, but this also means it stays put a lot longer. I like the pigmentation, the color stays visible, even for after about 2 hours. I also like the smell of it, it reminds me of vanilla cupcakes.
I'm using this a lot now, almost every day when I'm not seeing my boyfriend. Lip products + boyfriend = no match, haha. I am quite sad the lettering on the package is already wearing off. I hate it when that happens.

Collections: upcoming MAC collections wishlist!

As you all probably know, MAC is coming up with some pretty awesome collections this fall. I really narrowed it down to the minimum, since I don't have a ton of money to spend. I still have a huge Lush wishlist, so I'll have to compromise. Boooo.

Fabulous Felines
- 4 september

Palace Pedigreed eyeshadow quad - courtly, palace pedigreed, quite spoiled, russian blue

Palace Pedigreed Bloodline pigment

Palace Pedigreed Pet Me blush

Yes, all Palace Pedigreed. I love this part of the collection, almost everything is so wearable. It's also really fit for my skintone, I love the colours. I like the other parts too, but they don't suit me as well.

Venomous Villains
- 9 october

Cruella de Vil Darkly My Dear blush

Cruella de Vil Devilishly Stylish lipglass

Evil Queen Vile Violet eyeshadow

Maleficent Formidable! nail laquer

Maleficent My Dark Magic mineralize eyeshadow duo

I was not too excited for this collection, but when you look closer there really are some awesome items. I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick up all of this, but I am definitely getting the nail laquer. So pretty! I'm still not a big fan of the packaging though ;(.

Pro Longwear
- october

Lipcreme in Overtime

I'm in search for a new foundation, concealer and powder. I think I'll wait until this collection is out. Maybe it's perfect for me, maybe it's not but I want to keep all of my options open.

I'm not even sure this collection is going to make it to Belgium, but the packaging looks sooo pretty. I don't know if I'd pick something up from this collection (or will even be able to afford it), there's still not much information about this available.

All pictures and information are from Temptalia.com. And apparently I'm going through a pink-and-purples phase, haha.

Enjoy your lazy sunday! xo

Too Faced - Shadow Insurance

As told by many guru's, this one is one of the best eye primers out there. Don't you just love the packaging of Too Faced? Super girly.

I bought this in winter 2009 and it's finally (or sadly) almost out of product. I really love this primer. It has no real color of its own, so it can be used as a base for whatever color you like. The only problem I get sometimes is that I can't see where exactly I put the product and where I missed a spot. Anyway, it really does work. My eyeshadow stays put for the entire day and there's no creasing. I also like the texture of it, it's silicone based so it goes on very smoothly. It does smell a little weird, but it's really not that bad. It's not like one of those synthetic cheap make up smells (o man, i hate those). You also don't need a lot of it, that's why it will last you so long. It's 11g for about 15 euros, so really worth a shot.

Hope that helped. Have a nice weekend! xo

New: Eyeko polishes!

Yay! I've seen punk polish a lot around the internet with the old packaging, so I was quite sad they didn't sell it anymore. But now it's back! And there's a new one too, called chichi polish. A baby pink colour with pink glitters, so girly. They sell them seperatly or in the 'all the pinks' set. Go and check it out here.

Ironically, my new order just arrived here this morning, haha. I got saucy polish, tea rose polish and the 3-1 cream. I can't wait to try these ones out! I also got indigo polish for free. Not really my cup of tea, but I'll give it a shot.

Meow! xo

Random: jewellery

I don't have a lot of jewelery, in fact, I only have little. I still wanted to share what I have because I wear it all the time. I really feel like taking the bus to the closest Accesorize now, haha.
I really love anchors. Not because they have been a trend for over 2 years now, I started collecting stuff with anchors on for a couple of years now. I'm planning on getting one tattooed on my foot as well. I've been wanting this for about 4 years now, so I think I'll get it for my 21st birthday.

Anyway, this is how I store my jewelery. I got this hand-thingy for my birthday a few years back and I quite like it, it has a retro feeling to it I think! I basically put my necklaces on there and some rings. I put earrings in a little box, which was also a gift. I don't like wearing bracelets, I only got a big black one and a grey one.

I looove my necklaces!

The one with the fish and the anchor are from the jeweller, but I mostly wear one pendant at a time. The squirrel is new actually! I really still want something with an owl or a cat, I have spotted some but I usually don't like it. Boo me.

Jup, pretty basic. The silver ring is so old, I got it when I was 13 but I still wear it every day. It's broken but I don't care. I got some more earrings in the box but these are the ones I wear mostly. I still have some new ones laying around here somewhere, very pretty black and taupe ear buttons. Of course I can't find them, I'm a mess.

Hope that was a little bit entertaining. I'm in the middle of my resits so I don't have a lot of inspiration at the moment. But I am still reading all of the wonderful blogs you girls got out there!

NOTD: Eyeko Rain polish

My eyeko order finally arrived! It took about two weeks, not too long but I'm an impatient girl. I've already got my next order ready and when the renewed fatbalms are released, I'm getting those as well. I also really want to try the 3 in 1 cream. I just NEED to try it.

I know everyone has been posting reviews about eyeko polishes, and about this one in particular. So sorry, but here's another one! It's just so awesome. Most of the time it's a baby blue with a very subtle shimmer and sometimes it's a light blueish gray. I'm so in love with this color, I never want to take it off! Application was alright, the brush is quite long, but it's wide enough to cover about half the nail. I put on two coats and a topcoat. I think I'm going to get a backup for this one, what if they discontinue it ;(? I'm still not happy with the way my mani's turn out, somehow they always look a bit messy. O well.

Yes, that's my cat. That's what you get for sleeping on my desk.

different lighting, more gray?

Definitely get this one, you'll fall in love with it. Looks great on pale skin, at least in my opinion!

Random: Top 5 youtube guru's

(Kandee Johnson)

It was well about time I posted about this. I've been watching youtube makeup video's for over 2 years now and it has tought me almost everything I know about makeup these days. I still remember the very first video I saw. I just watched Miami Ink and wanted to know how to do a Kat Von D look. So I searched Youtube and found Marlena!

1. MakeupGeek
I have watched every single video this lovely lady has put out there. I love her advice and the way she explains every step she does in applying makeup. I also really like her website, which has swatches, reviews and an idea gallery. The forum is awesome too, there are daily submissions of eotd's and fotd's and the girls inspire each other to improve their skills and try different things.

2. Kandee Johnson
This is such an adorable woman. I think she's the most positive person there is. Her tutorials are awesome as well. She goes from Edward Scissorhands to Tinkerbell, back to Megan Fox and throws in some cheap skin solutions too.

3. Nikkie Tutorials
I still remember watching her first ('viiirst') video on youtube and thinking 'what the fck is she doing?' She was just 14 years old and making video's on youtube, so kudos for that. I'm 20 and still don't have the guts to do it. Anyway, she's come such a long way, and now I absolutely love watching her video's.

4. MissChievous
She has quite long video's, but I think the end result is always superb. She'll show you anything to do with makeup, nails and hair. She's from Switzerland so she knows how bad it sucks not to have a lot of awesome drugstore brands at home.

5. Ask me makeup
Really fun and vintage look video's. They're all quite simple to do and are very fun to watch. I always wished I lived in the 50's or 60's after watching one of these, haha.

So, this is just a top 5. Of course there are many many MANY other channels that are cool to watch! Please share some of your favorite guru's so I can check those out (;

Random: summer favorites

I thought it would be fun to share my summer favorites. Summer in Belgium is always weird. Some days are hot (30°C and up), others are rainy and muggy. Don't hate me for this, but I really don't like summer. I'm a winter type, I love cold snowy nights in bed watching one movie after the other. Anyway, these are the products I loved (and am still loving) during summer:

- m.a.c. eyeshadow quad with mylar, satin taupe, corduroy and shadowy lady
- Sephora blush me! blush in peche tendre
- Urban Decay's Big Fatty Mascara
- Lush None of your beeswax lipbalm
- Catrice Clay-ton My Hero nailpolish
- m.a.c. fluidline in black track
- m.a.c. 266 brush
- Pierre Cardin All over high-light cream

NOTD: Catrice Back to black

O my, I think I have found the perfect black. Well, apart from a jelly black maybe, because I still want one of those. This is not just another black. In the bottle it looks like the darkest shade of gray with a hint of silver shimmer. The shimmer doesn't really show up in daylight (at least not today, once again one of those gloomy summer days), but it does add some more dimension.
I'm also putting this nail polish to the test. Tomorrow I'm off to Pukkelpop, one of Belgium's biggest festivals. I chose black because I'm a bit neurotic and I always want to match my nails with something I'm wearing. Since I almost always wear something black, my mind will be at ease, haha. Anyway, the longest a catrice polish has lasted me without chipping was about 6 days. After 2 days I get tired about it anyway, so I don't really mind. Now I want to see how long it stays on during a festival, including 4 nights of camping. Woo!

Since I'll be gone until Sunday, I won't be around any computers. I do have some fun posts planned ahead though ;).

I has an owl - but I like kittehz maor. ya rly

Random: La Fille d'O

Something different from the normal beauty post. This time it's about underwear. Or unmentionables, like the designer likes to call it. La fille d'O. This is my absolute favorite brand. Murielle always comes up with new shapes that surprise in every way. Sometimes very subtle, sometimes excentric. I don't like every piece she designs, but I get the bigger picture. Some pieces are really cute, while other are on the verge of being a bit trashy. I'd say go and check it out at lafilledo.com. No seriously, go and check it out now (;

I don't have a lot, but I love what I have. In my closet and on my body at least once a week:

FOTD; nautical smokey eye

I got inspired by a vintage belt I got from my mom. It's a navy blue belt with a golden buckle, I really like it.
I think I can do a better job blending, haha. It looks good irl, but on camera it looks like I just blobbed it on there. I used mac and sephora eyeshadows, if anyones cares what I used exactly, just ask (; .

NOTD: Catrice Clay-ton, my hero

This is a soft shade of taupe by catrice. It's a dark beige-grey with a subtle golden shimmer. It shows up really good in sunlight. I did the anchor with 'back to black' (yes again, I knowww), it's a very dark grey with a silver-blue shimmer.
I am seriously in love with catrice nailpolishes. They're so cheap, opaque with 2 layers and the quality is great. I can't resist buying one whenever I go to Kruidvat, haha. There are still 5 colours I really want!

FOTD: Natural smokey eye

I am so in love with satin taupe from mac. Whenever I use this color, it really makes my eyes pop. Even when I blend it in over another color, it just gives it that °oomph it needs. I hope you can see it in the pictures, but i doubt it, haha. My camera sucks. Off to a bbq now! Nice weekend to you all!

NOTD: Anchors aweigh!

I did this with a stamping set from essence. I guess it's what you call a fake konad? I think it came out okay, but I'm not a huge fan of it. The red line is sort of odd? I don't know. I used stargazer nail art pen in red, catrice 'back to black', gosh silk and catrice 'I see through you'.

Voor diegenen van Belgiƫ en Nederland: bij Kruidvat is het Nagelfestival: 2 kopen, 2e halve prijs! Ik heb er alvast al dik van geprofiteerd ;).

Tag, again!

I've been tagged again! This time it was by LisaMarie. Here we go:

* What's your favorite makeup look?
A neutral or a smokey eye with a nude lip. I don't use a lot of bold colors, just some accents or I just use a very dark shade of a color.

* What part of your body do you love?
That's a though one. Some days I don't like anything about it, other days I think I look fine the way I am. I guess I like my eyes and my hair, my colarbones and my bum, haha. I like the overall shape of my body, it's quite in proportion, even though I got some chub here and there.

* Who is your beauty icon?
I think I have a few? I like the sultry look Megan Fox has, but I also really love the girl next door look from Kate Hudson. Katherine Heigl always looks so classy, but Kat Von D looks awesome as well. I can't pick!

* What beauty product makes you feel instantly good?
Eyeliner and mascara. I don't like leaving the house without it, it's the bare minimum. It makes my eyes more awake because I have quite big eyes with heavy lids.

* How do you look after your skin?
I currently still use a routine from Nivea, but I will be changing this because I found out they test on animals. I have some products from their 'sensitive to dry skin' range. I use a face wash once a day, and every morning and night I use a cleanser, toner and a night- or daycream. Sometimes I scrub my face with the facewash mixed with some sugar, or just some sugar with lemon juice. I like natural (and budget friendly) solutions for my skin. If they work, why bother buying expensive products? I also make my own bodyscrub and I use a bodylotion or bodybutter almost every day.

* What is your signature scent?
I always have a different perfume. Currently I'm using 'Zestiny' from The Body Shop, but I think it's been discontinued? I have this problem with almost every perfume I buy! I'm going to buy one of the Harajuku Lovers perfumes I think, I really want one of those, they all smell awesome! I think I like a light fruity perfume above all. I hate people that go overboard and smell like they've taken a bath in their perfume bottle.

* What's your hair care secrets?
If you bleach your hair, STOP DOING IT NOW! I used to bleach and dye it in a very light blond shade, and it completely ruined and dried out my hair. Even though I'm a natural (dark?) blond, it was very high maintenance. Now I just dye it myself, in a dark color, about every 3 weeks. I use tigi hairproducts. They're pricey, but worth the money. My hair is shiny and looks healthy, even though I haven't been to a hairdresser in 10 months (I'm not joking!) Hairdressers are scary, they always mess up my hair ;(. I also rarely straighten or curl my hair anymore, just a few waves a couple of times a week.

* How do you pamper yourself?
I pamper myself everyday, I think, haha. I love taking a long hot bath with my favorite music in the background, some scented candles and a good scrub. (yes, what a cliche, but I like it) Afterwards I rinse myself off with really cold water, feels so awesome.
I also feel very spoiled when I buy underwear or makeup with ridiculous high prices. Woopsie.

What is your beauty pet peeve?
Untrimmed brows, panda-eyes, orange foundation-masks, too much eyeshadow, failed eyeliner and people that wear fashion items unsuitable for their body shape. Grrr.

What would your desert island must haves be?
Food, water, deodorant, a razor, clothes, mascara and my boyfriend? Haha i don't know, makeup wise, I'd say mascara and eyeliner, a brow filler and powder.

* Finally, how do you have a beauty philosophy?
I did quite some research for school about beauty some time back, and I believe beauty has a double standard. People go to crazy extents to live up to their cultural standard. I also hate how the media makes us feel like 'we're not good enough' if we don't live up to it. If you're not a size zero, you're a lesser person? Other than that, everyone should look after their appearance. You can discuss this over and over again, but looks matter. We're visual creatures.
For myself, I'd say, keep it natural. Think of the environment and animal testing.

I tag mysterious brunette, girtastic glam, Suzan from Suusies MakeupBlog, Robyn from Stay Beautiful and Beauty's Bad Habit.

NOTD: Nail marbling

I really hated doing this, haha. I think it came out okay, so it guess it was worth the struggle. I used catrice sold out forever, a pinky nailpolish from hema and gosh' 02 pearl. Here's how it looks:

(wow, my hands are super dry here?)

And my fotd. I wear this almost every day, just a neutral eye with lots of eyeliner, a bit of blush and some lipbutter. I have a teeeeeny bit of turquoise going on near my tear duct, but that's about it.

(very creasy lids, arghhh)

Lush - Love Lettuce

On my last visit at Lush, I got a sample of 'love lettuce' fresh face mask. There was quite a big amount of product in the sample, so I got to use it twice. Since I could choose which sample I wanted, I asked for something to neutralize my oily t-zone.

On the lush website:
Balancing face mask for normal to oily skin. Love Lettuce is a mask which gives as it takes away. On the taking away side you've got Fuller's earth and kaolin which are clays to dig deep and extract dirt. Then you have ground almonds and almond shells which you massage in to exfoliate away old skin cells and smooth your skin. On the giving side you have a decoction of agar agar seaweed with lots of lovely minerals to be absorbed into your skin, plus moisturising almond oil and balancing lavender to control oils. All fair in love and lettuce.

I really liked using this mask. It felt really fresh on my skin and it wasn't like one of those masks that get really hard after a while. It also didn't smell bad, just a bit like clay and seaweed. You could also really see the seaweed in it. I like this because then you know it's a real fresh product. Because of the almonds, my skin got a good scrub too. After using it, some sort of a film had formed on my skin, which felt oily, but after 10 minutes my skin was super soft! So, did it neutralize my skin? Yes. My oily t-zone wasn't oily anymore, and the rest of my face (where my skin is dry) was hydrated.
Would i buy it? For €10,75, maybe. You get about 3 masks out of a jar, but i bet i can pull 4 out of it. I'm more interested in trying their moisturizers and cleansers first.
