Winter favorites

I know I'm long due to this post! Spring has started almost a week ago, but here's a post about some products that I've loved (and am still loving) during the icy winter months.

First some make-up products. I've used the Naked Palette from Urban Decay almost every day since I got it, but I already mentioned that one in my fall favorites post. However, I'm totally hooked on the 24/7 eye pencil in zero. It stays on way longer than any other pencil I've used in the past. I hit pan on the Courtly eyeshadow from the Pedigreed Palace palette from the Fabulous Felines collection that came out around September. I looove this colour! It's great to put all over the lid and then some darker colour in the crease. I haven't used the fluidline in Dark Diversion as an eyeliner that much, but more as a purple base and I love how it looks. And then there's the Rosebud Salve, which I love in spite that it wears off that quickly.



Some months ago I bought a Give me liberty of London polish, in Blue India on a blogsale. I've been wearing it so much, it really goes with anything and looks great against my pale hands. London's Weather Forecast from Catrice and Evening Seduction from China Glaze are some older polishes I have, but they served me well in the Winter months.

The one thing that is so important to have in Winter (and well, basically every season) is a good moisturizing body lotion. Way back in Summer I won some Body Icing from Me!Bath in Vanilla Purity, and it is an amazing product. It is so rich and moisturizing, I don't think I ever used anything other like it. It makes my skin feel the softest ever and it smells divine. I'm almost running out of it, but I think I will buy this eventually. Yes, even if it's 22 euros. It is that good. O and of course, my good friend the Snow Fairy from Lush. It really is one of my favorite shower gels, it makes my bathroom smell like a candy store. I can't wait until next year to buy me the largest bottle there is, I'm so hooked on this but I'm afraid to use it. The day I run out of this will be a very sad day!



Sorry for the craptastic pictures, my camera was doing all weird kind of stuff. I'm kind of glad Winter is over now, I'm totally ready for Spring. But o how I hate Summer.. Can't I just skip it? Me!Bath - Vanilla Purity Shower Sherbet

Wow, this is the largest pot of scrub I ever had. Seriously, 500 g of scrub? That's a lot. I won this product with a contest on SnowWhiteGlamour, along with some other goodies which you can view here. And here!

The lid on this pot is not very air or moist proof. In fact, when I got this, the lid was only still half on it. Luckily there's a seal that keeps in the product or my package would've been one big sticky mess. I still have to be careful how I store this in the bathroom, I don't want to tip it over or something. Luckily, the substance isn't runny at all so it wouldn't make a huge mess. It's like a very dense gel substance, something I have never came across before. You really need to dig in your fingers in it to get some product. It's a sugar scrub, so the grains of the scrub aren't on the rough side. You can feel a gentle scrub, not too soft and not too hard. It's perfect for my arms. It also foams just a little bit, which is nice because it feels like you're hydrating the skin at the same time. Be sure to rinse this off thoroughly, I missed a spot once and it was SUPER sticky! It does leave my skin slightly hydrated, but not enough. I do think it's a great base to put the Body Icing on. That way you also built up the scent. And you really want to do that, since it's a super sweet vanilla one.

Pro:

Con:
- not so effective packaging
- price may be a bit on the high side, but you get a lot of product ( $28 on Me!Bath / €25,41 on BeautyQueen)

I really like this scrub for my arms, it's a perfect balance between rough and gentle. As for other parts of my body, I like a more rough scrub I think. The scent also lingers for a while, without using other products. I'm having the same dilemma as with the Body Icing. It's a bit expensive, but I like the product. Is it worth the splurge?

Me!Bath - Vanilla Purity Body Icing

This is another product I won from SnowWhiteGlamour's contest. I already reviewed the Bath Ice Cream in Land of Milk and Honey, you can view that here.

Like the Bath Ice Cream, the smell of this product is a-ma-zing. It's pure creamy vanilla, it's a deep scent, but not too heavy. It also lingers a long time. When I take a morning shower and then use this on my skin, I can still smell some of it at night. This almost never happens with a body lotion or butter. So that's a BIG plus! It's called body 'icing', it's not a butter, nor a lotion. It's somewhere in between really. Sometimes you really have to squeeze the bottle hard for product to come out. I do love the packaging though. It has this cap you pop open, so no pot to dip in with your fingers.

This must be one of the most hydrating creams I have tried so far. You don't need a lot so it'll last you quite some time. It's a white, very creamy substance that penetrates the skin fast enough to put on clothes within 15 minutes, so it's great to use in mornings. It's designed for people with normal to dry skin, and it really works. My skin is really hydrated and smooth after I used this. Not to forget how lovely I smell, sometimes I feel like a walking vanilla ice cream cone!

This is going to last me a long time, so I'm in no need to place an order for this soon. I'm not sure if I will, I think it's a lot of money for a body cream. I do however love this stuff, so I might splurge on it.

Me!Bath - Land of Milk and Honey Bath Ice Cream

I got this lovely product along with some other stuff a while back. I entered a competition on SnowWhiteGlamour.be to win some Me!Bath goodies from BeautyQueen.be, and won! So far I'm loving all of these products so much, prepare yourself for a lot of reviews!

This is a Bath Ice Cream from Me!Bath, an American bath and body care company. They're famous for their Bath Ice Creams, so I was thrilled I got to try one out! They sell for $8,50 on Me!Bath and for €5,41 on BeautyQueen (on sale). I think that's a normal price? Quite similar to Lush prices. This is truly a luxury item. It was sitting on my desk for about 3 weeks and my room smelled lovely. There was an amazing smell coming out of this little box, I loved it.

Tonight, I felt like pampering myself so I decided to finally use it. I threw it in the tub filled with hot water and it started fizzing like crazy. Sadly, this spectacle didn't last for so long, after a minute or two the fun was over. The bath bomb wasn't as dense as I thought, it wasn't very heavy or anything. Once it was completely done with fizzing, a nice layer of large oily bubbles appeared on the surface. During my bath, a nice thick layer of oil formed on my skin, you could compare it to the same amount you would put on during a massage. I was quite sad the smell wasn't as strong as I hoped. It was very subtle, maybe a bit too subtle for me. I like it when something fills up the entire bathroom with a gorgeous scent. I hopped out, but I didn't use a towel to dry my body, this way all of the oils could be absorbed by my skin. And o my, it was SO hydrated! My legs are so soft, it's really amazing. As for the scent, it's not really there anymore, just a tiny bit. Too bad I'm not smelling like a big pot of honey now, I really would've liked that =^x^=. Other than that, I am so relaxed now. It's 9.47PM when I'm writing this and I'm ready to doze off any second. This is perfect to end a hectic Monday.


Pro:
- packaging looks cute
- very hydrating
- great range of scents
- super relaxing

Con:
- scent doesn't stay long
- fizzes up quickly

I think I will be ordering some more of these from BeautyQueen, but I'm not sure which ones. They only hold about 8 scents, while there's a lot more to choose from on the Me!Bath website (up to 39!!) If you're from the States, I'd suggest to try one of these out ;)!
