Chocolate mask

Yesterday, I bumped into a video on Youtube from Beautygloss. I'm sure all of you Dutchies know Masha by now ;). She and Nikkie from Nikkietutorials were talking about (and testing) this quick and natural mask, suitable for every skin type.

It really is so simple and easy, anyone can do this. Just take one big tablespoon of cacao powder, one teaspoon of yogurt and one teaspoon of honey. Mix it together and apply it to your face. You should get a pretty thick paste substance. I applied it with a brush, just to prevent a big cacao mess, but your fingers are fine too. Leave it for about 30 minutes, rinse it off and you'll have super soft and cleansed skin. Awesome!

I did some more research about the ingredients, and this is what I came up with:
- cacao: Mostly softens the skin. Also holds anti-oxidants, but researchers doubt these molecules can reach as far as the lowest layer of the skin, where it is supposed to be effective to obtain results.
- yogurt: A very mild exfoliant. It shrinks pores and clears blemishes. You can use this in almost every kind of skin mask. Just google it, there's a ton of recipes out there.
- honey: Nourishes the skin, prevents skin discolorations and skin damage.

O, and here's the video I was talking about. It's in Dutch though.

I hope this was helpful! Go and look up some more natural ways to treat your skin, they're way cheaper and waaay healthier than all the cr4p they put in prepared masks these days.

xo,
Michelle
