The Body Shop - Deo Dry Cool & Zesty Stick

I had such high hopes for this deodorant. I always used a deodorant spray, but I ended up spraying at least 5 times a day. Seriously, I think people were calling me 'Deo-girl' behind my back, haha. I knew The Body Shop recently brought out a new deodorant, available as stick or a roller and in 3 fragrances: Chilled & Breezy, Cool & Zesty and Fresh and Floral. I really felt I should try it, so I bought Cool & Zesty for about 5 euros. This is what The Body Shop says:

A stick deodorant that works in a more natural yet effective way. It contains a volcanic mineral that absorbs wetness to keep you dry, and essential oils that mask unpleasant odour.

Not that much information if you ask me. It does work however. I love the scent, but that's no surprise because I'm into citrus smells. It keeps you dry all day long, at least in normal conditions. After stressing out at work for 4 hours, you really need to reapply, but I guess that's normal. It really does mask 'unpleasant odours', so a thumbs up for that.
Sadly, I can't use it anymore. Their website also says 'Do not apply to broken skin'. Almost all girls shave or wax their armpits, so the skin gets irritated anyway I think. I used it for a good 3 weeks, and my armpits became very irritated, red and dry. Not a very pleasant feeling or sight. I'm so bummed!

Pro:
- nice scent
- dry feeling
- no body odour
- price
- not tested on animals

Con:
- caused irritation

I really loved how good it worked for me and how it smells. Maybe I will buy the roller one instead next time, but for now I'm testing one from Nivea. Yeah, feeling guilty about it already because they test on animals. Boo me, I'm bad.

I hope this helped!

Shopping: The Body Shop Body Focus

Today, I had the afternoon off so I took one of my friends to the city. We entered The Body Shop.. and spotted a sale corner! At first I didn't want to buy anything, but then I saw a lot of products from the Body Focus range at an extremely low price, so I caved in. All of this stuff cost me 15,50 euros! Cheap, right?
Anyway, these products (except for the deodorant) are being discontinued. I also can't find a lot of reviews online, but now I'm wondering if anyone still wants me to review these. I can't really see the point of doing that because they're not for sale anymore, but if anyone likes me to, I will. I think I will show you guys how the henna turns out. I'm super exited for this one, I'm not expecting to be super red all over though.

Shopping: Lush haul and some more!

I rarely go out on a big shopping trip where I spend a ridiculously amount of money in one day, but I do buy one or two items at a time. Stuff I recently bought:

A new haircolour! It's going to be the lightest I have been in a year, boyfriend's pick so I'll see how it turns out. I also really love those little earrings from H&M. They had bunnies too but I knew I wasn't going to wear them so I gave them away. And I looove my new bag!

Now, my new Lush purchases! I really wanted a new skincare routine since I found out Nivea tests on animals. It did always work pretty well for me, I have really sensitive skin, and it can get superdry sometimes, but I also have an oily T-zone. Tricky! What I bought:

1. Sugar scrub: 'Tough on cellulite, kind to skin.' - kind of obvious why I want to try this one out, haha. Not that I need it so badly, but the littlest dimple makes me shiver!
2. Baby face: '
Natural butter bar for effective cleansing.' - I already tried this one, I love it. I never knew my face could get so dirty.
3. Eau Roma Water: '
Gentle rose water for dry skin' - I don't like the smell of roses, but it's bearable. Just a toner, I don't really know what to expect to be honest. It contains lavender, so it must be good?
4. Lemony Flutter: 'Cuticle butter' - Mmm, the smell of this product is so gooood. Let's hope it helps my extremely dry cuticles.
5. Angels on bare skin: '
Angelic and medieval recipe for the skin.' - Some sort of a cleanser, it's like a clay. This smells quite nice, you can even see bits of lavender in it. Got high hopes for this one!
6. Imperialis: '
Imperial and majestic moisturiser for oily skin.' - I'm confused, on the UK site it says it's for oily skin, while on the Dutch one it says it's for combination. Hm, we'll see I guess. This also contains lavender.

Samples:
- Miranda: Soap with kiwi and juniper berry oil. I seriously want to eat this soap, that's how sweet it smells. Nomnomnom.
- Trichomania: Solid shampoo bar. 'Coconut softener for dry hair.' - Smell alright, I'm not a big fan of coconut actually. I still don't know if I'm going to try this one out, I'm a die-hard Tigi-fan.

I'm quite happy with what I got. You can expect some reviews about this stuff pretty soon!

The Body Shop - Sweet Lemon

My exams are finally over! Which means i finally have time to post some more stuff on here. Im actually sunbathing atm! (: i really want to get a bit tanned this summer, being pale shows a lot more imperfections on your skin and you look so much more healthier with a bit more colour.
Alright, back on topic. I got some stuff from Sweet Lemon for my birthday, which was in march. I used it a lot since then, so i might need to rush myself back to the store for some new stuff (; I got the shower gel, body crub, body butter and the lip butter.

Shower gel

No real difference from their other showergels. It has a sweet smell and makes you feel refreshed, really nice for on hot summer days. The bottle will last you quite some time, im almost at the bottom and ive had it for about three months now. I use it almost every day so it's worth your money.

Body butter

The package says it's for normal skin. This one is a little disappointing to me. It smells really nice, but the scent doesn't last long. It also needs quite some time for your skin to absorb it. I dont think ill be buying it again, i tested some of their other butters which work better for me.

Body scrub

This stuff feels awesome on your skin! It's smooth and it doesnt feel like you're scrubbing off your skin. It's just a soft scrub that's gentle for your skin. It contains lemon seed oil which moistures your skin and makes it super soft. Although i like it, i cant use it that much. Because it contains oil, it wont absorb my self-tanning product and will cause stains. Therefore i make my own scrub! I take some of the showergel and mix it with a lot of sugar and scrub my whole body with it, except my face. It makes my skin just as smooth, but without the oil.

Lip butter

I believe this is my favorite sweet lemon product. It's not sticky and it has a soft shine to it. It smells (and tastes, haha) like lemon-coke to me, but with an extra scoop of sugar. I own quite some body shop lip balms and butters, but i like this the most.

I love how Sweet Lemon smells, but a friend of mine got me a smaller set of Grapefruit, and i like that scent a little more. Also the body butter feels nicer on my skin, it just feels a little bit less sticky and it smells 10x more fresher than lemon! So, ill probably get everything grapefruit next time (read: next week, haha)

have a nice hot summer day!
