NOTD: Eyeko Pastel polish

Yay! Eyeko polishes! Well, no cheers for this one. Don't get me wrong, I looove the colour, but application wasn't like other Eyeko polishes.

It's a very thin polish, so I needed 3 coats for it to be mostly opaque. I think I would've been perfect after 4 coats but who has that much patience? I'm really sad I have to say I hate the formula. Luckily, the colour totally makes up for it. Look at that gorrrgeous blue shade! And it holds just enough sparkle for it to show in daylight. Yup, I think I'll be wearing this one a lot this winter. If I have the time and patience to put on 4 coats. Grr.

Eyeko - Strawberry Fatbalm

I've been waiting for Eyeko to bring out the new fatbalms for aaages. The moment they appeared on the website, I placed an order! Now let's see if it lived up to my high expectations.

I thought it would be bigger to be honest. It looks like a plump lipstick, but with a flat top. You also don't get all that much product for 7 euros in my opinion. And there's glitters in it. Glitters! I hate glitters ;(. But these were just my first impressions. It really won me over when I started using it. I did like the packaging right away though, the gray looks way better than the previously pink fat balms.


Eyeko describes it as a pink colour, but it looks more of a muted red to me. And well, I'm scared of red lipsticks. I've got big eyes and full cheeks with a relatively small mouth, so vibrant lips easily look funny on me. I actually look okay wearing this on my lips! I thought it would hold a lot less pigment, but it's quite okay. Therefore, you don't need a lot of product. And the glitters I hate so much, you can hardly tell it's there. It just becomes a nice glowy sheen. Pfew! The only problem I have is getting it on my lips. The balm is so big you easy get colour outside of your lips. I can't say anything about the moisturizing effect because I mainly use it as a cream blush. I just get some of it on my fingers and dab it on my cheeks, it gives me a nice pinky flush, I like it. O, and the smell! I actually like it, it's like super sweet strawberry candy.

I think for the amount you get, 7 euros is a bit much maybe. However I do think I'm getting another one in a paler colour so I can use it on my lips daily. I think Minty would be something for me.

How to: leopard nails

This is a quick and easy tutorial to make your own leopard print nails without using konad or any other stamps. I've worn this quite a few times now, any colour combination is possible and if you mess up, no one will notice.

What you need: 2 colors of polish (preferably a lighter and a darker one) and a nail art pen (or a brush and a black or dark brown polish)

Step one: You first want to apply a base coat and one or two coats of polish of your choice. I'm wearing 2 coats of Catrice's London Weather Forecast. It's best to already clean up at this stage because black polish (used for the print) has a higher possibility of smudging.

Step two: Pick any other colour you like, preferably a lighter one. I picked Eyeko's Rain polish because it's a blue tone like London's Weather Forecast. I think it looks the best this way, a dark colour with a similar lighter colour for the spots. But that's just personal preference, choose whatever you think looks good. Now get a fine brush, this can be a nail art brush or just a cheap one from the art store. Don't spend a ton of money on brushes for nail art, you'll ruin them anyway. Dip it in the polish and paint small dots on your nails.

Step three: When this is completely dry, take your nail art pen or nail art brush (and a black or dark brown polish) and draw in the leopard print. I used Essence nail art pen in 02 cool black. I think it's easy to google a random leopard print and use it as a guideline. It's totally fine to mess up the first few times, it takes some practice. No one is going to tell if you mess up anyway, it's a messy print to begin with ;).

Step four: Apply a topcoat, and you're done! It's really important to let it completely dry before putting on a top coat. If you don't, the black will smudge and ruin your manicure. I always just paint one nail in leopard print. I think it looks too busy and too tacky when I do all of my nails. That's just what I think what looks good on me, if you want to do all of your nails, that's fine by me!

NOTD: Eyeko Tea Rose polish

Quick post! I'm in a hurry because I'm going to my first Lush Vip evening, sooo exited!
I took these pictures a while back, my fingers look so damn dry, even when I use Lemony Flutter or Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream. Boo! Does anyone know what else I can do? It's not so bad now as it was in the pictures, but still.

This is Tea Rose polish from Eyeko, and like almost all eyeko polishes, I love it. The formula was a bit on the thick side, so it's a bit streaky? I don't know. I do know I LOVE this colour! I don't like pinks, but I like this one. It's girly, but not a barbie girly pink. I don't know if I'm making sense now ;'), sorry! And o my, my nails are so short here.

I love the names! I think I'm only getting Knightsbridge, I don't know how pigmented these are and those red shades won't really suit me. I'm also not a big fan of glitters and too much shimmer on the lips, so I can't really say if I'd like them.

How to: half moon manicure

My nails are so short! I broke one off at work on Saturday, so I decided to shorten them all instead of having one sad little nail. That's why the skin around my nails is so dry at the moment I think. Yuk.
Anyway, I wanted to try something different. For a first time, I think it looks alright. You'll need 2 nail lacquers, a top coat and some reinforcement labels. And probably a base coat, I really need to buy one, haha. This is how I did a half moon manicure:

1. Apply (a base coat and) your first colour. This colour is going to be the half moon. I used Gosh Silk. Then apply a topcoat. The traditional 40's half moon mani has a 'nude' half moon, so I used a transparent one. You can use any colour you want, but I suggest using a lighter colour, the top colour has to be opaque enough to cover the rest of the nail. Wait for it to be completely dry.


2. Apply the reinforcement labels on the bottom of your nail, like I did in the picture. Press it down as firmly as possible, any gaps will cause the polish running underneath. I used plastic labels, but I think paper ones will work better.


3. Then apply 1 coat of your second colour, preferably a darker one. Wait for it to be completely dry again, then remove the labels. I was a little impatient and removed them too early. It will be a bit messy, but it's still fixable. I used Eyeko Rain polish.


4. Once the labels are successfully removed, clean up any mess you may have caused (guilty!). Apply a topcoat, and voila, your half moon mani is done!

NOTD: Eyeko Saucy polish + update

I think I have found the perfect classic red. It's not too bright, yet not too deep, just gorgeous. A true retro red! Application was amazing, the best of Eyeko polishes yet. And here's the best part: it was opaque in 1 coat! The only thing I hated was removing it. Because it's so pigmented, my fingers were totally red. Or maybe I'm just a messy remover, ha!

Then I put on the Essence Matt top coat, but more about that later. I think it looks pretty cool. I also think I should invest in a brush to clean up better, q-tips don't work for me.

I'm currently re-doing the blog a little bit. I'm still not 100% happy with how it is now, I think the font is too big? Anyway, there's also a header coming up, which will bring some colour to it. It's a bit boring now ;p. So, sorry if you don't like how it looks now, but I'll fix it soon!

NOTD: Eyeko Indigo Polish

I layered this one to be honest. It's a deep purple blue nailpolish with blue shimmers, but I wanted it to be more purple so I used a cheap purple polish underneath. I think it think it looks pretty cool, I'm not used to wearing glittery polishes, or even blue and purples! I got Indigo polish for free with one of my orders, I'd probably never order it myself.



I'm also trying out the ambassador-thing on Eyeko. You can use my ambassador code, which is E10836, in the 'ambassador code' section at the check out, to receive a nice little gift. I'm really looking forward to their fatbalms.. Can't wait!

New: Eyeko polishes!

Yay! I've seen punk polish a lot around the internet with the old packaging, so I was quite sad they didn't sell it anymore. But now it's back! And there's a new one too, called chichi polish. A baby pink colour with pink glitters, so girly. They sell them seperatly or in the 'all the pinks' set. Go and check it out here.

Ironically, my new order just arrived here this morning, haha. I got saucy polish, tea rose polish and the 3-1 cream. I can't wait to try these ones out! I also got indigo polish for free. Not really my cup of tea, but I'll give it a shot.

NOTD: Eyeko Rain polish

My eyeko order finally arrived! It took about two weeks, not too long but I'm an impatient girl. I've already got my next order ready and when the renewed fatbalms are released, I'm getting those as well. I also really want to try the 3 in 1 cream. I just NEED to try it.

I know everyone has been posting reviews about eyeko polishes, and about this one in particular. So sorry, but here's another one! It's just so awesome. Most of the time it's a baby blue with a very subtle shimmer and sometimes it's a light blueish gray. I'm so in love with this color, I never want to take it off! Application was alright, the brush is quite long, but it's wide enough to cover about half the nail. I put on two coats and a topcoat. I think I'm going to get a backup for this one, what if they discontinue it ;(? I'm still not happy with the way my mani's turn out, somehow they always look a bit messy. O well.

Yes, that's my cat. That's what you get for sleeping on my desk.


different lighting, more gray?

Definitely get this one, you'll fall in love with it. Looks great on pale skin, at least in my opinion!

NOTD: Catrice London's weather forecast

Another catrice nailpolish. I didn't like it a first, but now i really love it. It's a blueish grey with a very subtle shimmer, really pretty.


I ordered some polishes from eyeko; rain polish, vintage polish and posh polish. Can't wait for them to arrive!
